In April 2025, The Magic Group — a London-based content studio led by Julius Dein — ran a competitive three-week hackathon to recruit full-time creators. I was among those hired. The mandate was singular: get as many views as possible. No aesthetic guidelines, no brand constraints. Just reach.
The team trained us in a precise methodology — how to engineer shock, satire, and controversy into content the algorithm rewards. This style of work can look raw or outrageous on the surface. That's intentional. Subtlety doesn't go viral. Provocation does.
After the hackathon I was given full creative control of the julius.deinius page — built by the whole team during the competition, then handed to me alone to run. Five months. 300 million views.
